Product Care
Mohair does not retain dirt. Mohair seldom requires cleaning unless there is a spill or stain. Our mohair products are durable and long lasting and can last a lifetime provided that they’re cared for properly. Please follow care instructions.
Store your blankets/throws in a cool, dry place and on a flat surface. Do not hang your mohair blankets/throws and do not store them in plastic as this can cause moisture build up.
When storing your blanket, it's best to place it in a bag made of natural fibre so that it can be protected from the elements while still being able to 'breathe'.
Can I dry clean my Mohair blanket?
Yes, Mohair blankets should be dry cleaned by a reputable cleaner. Always check the care label.
Can I hand-wash my Mohair blanket?
No, we do not recommend this.
How should I dry my Mohair blanket?
Lay the blanket flat or hang it to dry, as Mohair dries quickly. Once dry, give it a gentle shake or brush with a stiff hairbrush to restore its soft pile. Avoid using firm strokes to prevent damage.
Can I tumble dry my Mohair blanket?
No, tumble drying is not recommended as it can damage the fibres. Always air dry your Mohair items.
Why does my Mohair blanket shed?
Shedding occurs naturally with Mohair fibres, especially in new blankets or when fibres are not properly secured. However, due to the blended excellence of Buck and Grove, the shedding of our blankets is minimal.
Will the shedding stop?
Yes, shedding decreases over time with regular maintenance like brushing and proper washing.
How can I refresh my Mohair blanket?
Gently shake the blanket or brush it with a stiff hairbrush using soft strokes. This helps fluff the fibres and bring back its smooth, plush feel.
What can I do about tangles?
Carefully brush out any tangles with a stiff hairbrush. Be gentle to avoid pulling or damaging the fibres.
How do I fix flattened areas?
Flattened spots can be revived by brushing them lightly or giving the blanket a firm shake. This redistributes the fibres and restores the original texture.
No, mohair has innate elasticity preventing shrinkage. Our blankets and throws are also treated for shrinkage. Follow the care instructions and your blanket will last for life.

- Sustainable: Eco-friendly and good for the environment and planet.
- Warmth: Excellent insulation with a lightweight feel.

Nylon yarns are much stronger and thinner than mohair. If you only use mohair the yarn will pull apart and the blanket/socks will disintegrate. Nylon is a core fibre around which the mohair is spun and another nylon yarn spun around these as a binder. The nylon composition in our products is very small.
